FAMILY

My Little Family!

The Byler Trio: Nick, Mary, and Rambo

Our Story:
Nick and I went to school together since the third grade. We met our junior year of high school in art class and were immediately attached at the hip. I was the college prep course taking, quiet, overly serious girl, and he was the obnoxious, outspoken athlete, so opposites really do attract. Although I say opposites attract, we both hold the same values on the things that count. We started dating on July 17th, 2005, said "I love you" only a week later, and have been inseparable ever since. Five years later, we tied the knot on July 16th, 2010.

Nick:
This pretty much sums up our life. I'm paying attention, he's watching the game.

Nick is originally from Pennsylvania, and moved to North Carolina in first grade. The last name Byler isn't very common because it is actually Amish. His dad left the community and hitchhiked to Erie, PA where he met Nick's mom. He played soccer throughout school and earned a scholarship to play in college, but came home to take care of his family when his mom passed away from cancer. He is currently a commercial plumber working toward his licensure.

Things to know about Nick.....
*He spouts random sports facts like no other. I think they currently occupy about 3/4 of his brain.
*He loves football and is a Panthers fan through and through.
*He loves his family more than anything else in this world and is the best big brother anyone could ask for.
*Boo can eat! He loves Wickle's Pickles, anything pasta, anything grilled, milk and orange juice by the gallon, banana pudding, and of course his beers of choice, Corona or Yuengling.
*Homeboy gives a mean back rub, is always there to listen, and has the most positive attitude of anyone I know.
*He loves sweets, like Baby Bottle Pops (don't kill me for telling), brownies, and fun dip (and yes, he shares the fun dip with our dog).
*Nick has had the same best friends for forever. When I say forever, think back to the single digits in terms of age. They have become some of my best friends too, and are some of the most genuine, kind-hearted, and crazy folks I have ever met. Reference the exhibits below...

                                                             What?!!!                                      A little better...

Finally!

Rambo:

Also known as Ham, Hamurabi, Hammertone Gold, and most recently, Hameron (in honor of the Panthers' quarterback, Cam Newton).
Rambo is a wild, sweet, neurotic shepherd pit mix. He turned 3 on November 18th (his birthday is the day before mine, so we get to celebrate together)!

He enjoys...
*Demolishing tennis balls and golf balls
*Laying on the back of the couch (he thinks he's a cat)
*Eating fun-dip, sour patch kids, and mike & ikes with Nick
*Eating Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner (spoiled)
*Chasing his tail
*Running "hot laps" around and in the house
*Somehow getting the ice cream carton out of the bottom of the trashcan
*Having his picture taken
*Getting hair on EVERYTHING
*Dominating the bed
*...and demanding attention at all times

Well, that's us. We may only be a family of three, but this household is crazy at all times and filled with love!
